Ashland Travel Guide
Welcome to Ashland!
Surrounded by the Cascade and Siskiyou Mountains, Ashland is best known for the annual Oregon Shakespeare Festival that attracts thousands of visitors every year. In the spring, the Ashland Gallery Association presents a two-day sensory feast of art, wine, food and music called A Taste of Ashland. The open-air Elizabethan Stage and the Angus Bowmer Theatre feature a wide variety of performances, including musicals, comedy and experimental theatre. Visitors walk and ride bikes on the Bear Creek Bike and Nature Trail that winds around the river banks Ashland is built on. The ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum offers a fun and educational experience for the young and young-at-heart. And, outdoor enthusiasts can try river rafting and jet boating on the Rogue and Klamath Rivers and fishing for steelhead, salmon and trout on the region's many mountain lakes. Throughout the ski season, visitors can enjoy Mt. Ashland, located nearby.
